Masonry Magazine & New WordPress Theme

We are happy to announce latest release of our new magazine WordPress theme Portos. The theme is featuring masonry (grid / 3 column) blog design, with the option to switch to regular blog posts view. So if you were looking for nice magazine theme lately for your blog or website then the Portos is worth consideration.

Rich Typography

When designing Portos theme we decide to use serif font, not old fashioned but with a little bit of modern touch. However we are aware that we can’t make everyone happy so if you prefer more modern or sans-serif looking typefaces you can change it easily withing few clicks in the theme panel. Also the options to show post author’s avatars can be desibled as well as categories. So you can go for minimalist look if you prefer. There are hundreds of built in fonts from Google Web fonts so you can just select fonts for the headings, body text, navigation… as usual really with our latest themes.

Dropcaps

Built in automatic dropcaps has been added to single posts templates, of course an optional dropcap is still available via shortcode button.

Post Format Styles

We put a lot of attention into creating nice styles for post formats. The Portos supports 8 post formats enabling you to create various content and enrich your magazine, blog or website with rich media, image galleries, post formats. Tiled galleries are created with the help of Jetpack plugin allowing you to add in-post grid mosaic galleries.
